The Federation of Defense and Corporate Counsel elected Jean Lawler its secretary-treasurer. Lawler, a Los Angeles partner at Murchison & Cumming, will serve a one-year term. She is the first woman elected an executive officer of the organization.

The 1,300-member organization includes civil litigators and general counsel who work to further justice and fellowship.
